The Magicard Prima 3 Duo Plus uses reverse transfer printing to create durable, professional quality two-sided cards faster than many other ID card printers. In reverse transfer printing, the card image is first applied backwards to a special overlaminate film, which is then applied to the card (instead of printing directly onto an ID card like resin thermal transfer or inkjet ID card printers). The reverse transfer process sandwiches the card's image between the plastic card and a durable acrylic overlaminate - ensuring that the quality of the card will outlast that of a normal ID card by two or maybe even three times over. Along with lasting longer, reverse transfer cards are harder to tamper with, and are less susceptible to environmental damage from forces like friction (which can rub away at inkjet-printed images on standard plastic card). The Prima 3 Duo Plus also features over-the-edge printing, which means that cards printed on the Prima 3 Duo Plus will not have a border, giving them a more professional appearance.
