ID badge lanyards are either round or flat. Round ID badge lanyards are 38” long. Flat ID badge lanyards are either 35” or 38” long, and either 3/8” or 5/8” wide.

Flat ID badge lanyards are either standard or “break-away”. Break-away lanyards have a clasp that releases when tugged, thereby protecting wearers if their lanyards become caught.

Attachments connect lanyards to the ID badge holders or card dispensers that hold the ID cards themselves.

Steel attachments appear silver (“NPS”, or “nickel-plated” steel) or black (“black oxidized” steel). Steel attachments include split rings, swivel hooks, and bull-dog clips.
Plastic attachments - “O” rings and slide hooks - appear in a range of colors.
